Retooling upgrades connector quality
Deltron Emcon offers a comprehensive range of fully screened circular DIN connectors, covering all DIN specification pin configurations.
The G5/4 recommendations are applied by the UK's network operating companies (NOCs) to power distribution from substations connected to the grid, and require emission limits and mitigation measures to be recorded.
Used in NOC contracts for installations built or upgraded since 2001, the recommendations are increasingly used as criteria in assessments made by utility companies as to set up or continuation of connection.
Some of the problems caused by harmonic distortion can be resolved by the derating of equipment such as transformers and motors, and circuit overload trip settings.
Other problems can be resolved using harmonic filters to reduce or cancel the harmonic components.
Once the initial test has been conducted, Deltron Emcon can provide advice as to the best solution for the individual site.
