Improvement brings award from Intel

Disco Corp has been named a recipient of Intel Corp's prestigious 2002 Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement award, Intel's highest honour for its suppliers.

Disco Corp has been named a recipient of Intel Corp's prestigious 2002 Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award, Intel's highest honour for its suppliers, for outstanding commitment to quality and performance by suppliers that provide products and services deemed essential to Intel's success.

The company was given the award for its efforts in supplying Intel with laser dicing systems, precision grinders with inline dry polishers, thin wafer inline grinders (DBG), chip scale packaging dicing saws and systems integration turnkey solutions, ultraprecision saw blades and wafer grinding wheels.

"For the third consecutive year, Disco has earned the SCQI award by role modelling overall supplier excellence", said Fred Rezaei, Intel Assembly Capital Equipment Development manager.

"Disco repeatedly sets the standard for other assembly suppliers in innovation, support and superior execution of Intel's development requirements.

In the past year, Disco enabled the new ultra-thin silicon technology developments, which provide solutions for Intel's wireless programmes".
