Expansion makes room for German-made systems

DSM Computer has enlarged its premises in West Munich to over 5000m2.

DSM Computer has enlarged its premises in West Munich to over 5000m2, taking just four months to complete the expansion of its manufacturing, development, project and quality assurance departments.

This specialist industrial computer system company has oriented itself firmly towards the German market and paved the way to further growth in the coming years.

Bernd Gallenberger, Chairman of DSM Computer's management board, acknowledges that "made in Germany" continues to stand for safety and quality both in Germany and abroad: "Our short design turnaround times and optimised manufacturing processes enable us to produce our products (even in mass) at competitive prices in Germany".

In contrast with the trend of investing abroad, DSM is creating more jobs in Munich.

Founded in 1981, DSM develops and produces its Infinity range of 19-inch industrial computers (high-quality panel systems) and its NanoServer family of embedded systems entirely in Munich.

The Modular World concept introduced by DSM in the 1980s has been implemented on an industry-wide basis and has been further developed.

Today, there is a wide range of standardised modules with long-term availability, on the basis of which customer-specific solutions can be tailored.

This necessitates a focus on close collaboration with customers.

Gallenberger has revealed his secret recipe for success, which is "hand-in-hand success": "It is important to understand our customers' applications and construct a long-lasting partnership".

"As a result of our newly created development and manufacturing capacities, we are in a position to react even more quickly to the needs of our customers and to changes in market conditions".

"We have been working with some of our customers for more than 25 years".

DSM provides top-of-the-range computer technology for industrial applications, automation, robotics POI/POS, telecommunications and measuring technology in the form of standard solutions or individually tailored products.

In terms of technology, the company is a top-rate player, which is reflected by its new industrial computers with high-performance Intel Core 2 Duo processor and fast PCI Express x16 bus interfaces.

These industrial PCs and embedded systems can be supplied with the condition monitoring program DSMP for permanent state monitoring of operational parameters.

Quality is a central theme at DSM and is actively embraced by its employees according to Gallenberger.

DSM Computer has established a tried-and-tested quality management system (in accordance with ISO9001:2000) for the development, manufacture and sale of its industrial computers.
