Available with either the 700MHz Intel Mobile Pentium III processor for the highest possible performance or a 300MHz Mobile Celeron processor for applications that require low power consumption, the TPP3 has four serial and two USB ports and a bidirectional Centronics parallel port.
It also includes a four-channel 12bit analogue to digital convertor.
Controllers for floppy disk, 10/100BaseT Ethernet and ATA-100 IDE are provided, as is a direct TFT flat panel display interface, PanelLink, two CRT outputs and a SoundBlaster compatible sound system.
A 2Mbyte Flash memory chip operates a Flash file system and is preloaded with ROM.DOS.
With the Pentium III architecture and AGP graphics engine that is capable of driving two displays simultaneously, the TPP3 is ideal for processor and graphic intensive applications such as kiosks and public display systems where multimedia functions are required.
As with all DSP Design controllers, the TPP3 incorporates active CMOS protection (ACP).
DSP Design also supplies a range of LaunchPad embedded PC/104 application development kits that allow engineers simply to select a processor module and a target operating system and begin developing application software immediately.
This dramatically reduces software development time so reducing product time to market.
