Microsoft Gold Partner for embedded systems, DSP Design, has introduced a new Microsoft Windows XP Embedded PC/104 application development system This TPP3 LaunchPad is one of a series of application development kits from DSP Design that allows engineers simply to select a processor module and a target operating system and begin developing application software immediately

The TPP3 LaunchPad is preinstalled with an optimised version of the new Windows XP Embedded operating system from Microsoft.

This is tailored by DSP Design to be smaller than the standard operating system and so cater for embedded applications, yet powerful enough to provide the user with all the functionality that is likely to be required.

The development of these tailored operating systems takes a great deal of highly skilled software development time before work can begin on the application program.

LaunchPad ensures that time to market is as short as possible thus affording significant savings in development costs.

The TPP3 LaunchPad includes a PC/104 processor board, a Compact Flash card preloaded with Windows XP Embedded operating system plus all necessary hardware accessories.

The complete system, which enables engineers to run a demonstration program within an hour of delivery and be working on their own application within a day, is supplied in a smart laptop carrying case.
