Fibre-optic distribution platform saves
signals
A new pair of fibre-optic distribution products from Datum provide an interference-free solution for RF signal transmission to multiple locations.
A pair of fibre-optic distribution products from Datum represent the first fibre-optic platform to target test, measurement and satellite ground station applications, and provide an interference-free solution for RF signal transmission to multiple locations "By offering fibre over standard cable, our customers are able to distribute highly accurate reference signals between buildings or within test facilities without AC ground loop noise or signal loss", said Datum TT and M President Paul Baia

Cut the cost of network synchronisation
SynCraft is a novel application from Datum that enables telecommunications carriers to remotely manage Datum's individual NetSyncPlus network elements thereby increasing overall network performance.
"This is especially important in ground station and OEM testing facilities where there are significant emitted and distributed interference signals".
The 6530 fibre-optic transmitter distributes signals up to 2km without signal degradation by taking a single RF signal and transmitting 10 low-noise optical signals, of the same frequency, over fibre-optic cable.
Likewise, the 6531 fibre-optic receiver obtains a single optical signal and distributes 10 low-noise RF signals of the same frequency over coaxial cable.
Evaluation models of both the 6530 and 6531 are currently available.
