The combined strengths of three Arizona-based companies has culminated in a revolutionary new medical device.

The combined strengths of three Arizona-based companies, Duraswitch an innovator in electronic switch technologies, AP Industrial, a diversified electronic switch manufacturer and Erchonia Medical, the world leader in low level laser technology, has culminated in a revolutionary new medical device Erchonia recently released the PL 5000, a low-level laser medical device

AP designed control panels for the device using Duraswitch's patented PushGate pushbutton technology.

3LTTM or low-level laser therapy promotes healing in many conditions, including chronic and acute pain.

Erchonia's PL 5000 limited edition laser was used on the US Postal cycling team during the 2003 Tour de France, marking the third consecutive year that Erchonia products have aided riders in this physically demanding race.

The handheld device is the first low-level laser granted market clearance by the FDA.

"PushGate provides a reliable, user-friendly interface, matching our demand for high quality", said Charlie Shanks, Vice President Sales and Marketing for Erchonia.

Lawrence Owens, Director of Design, AP Industrial added: "With this model, we used a flexible electroluminescent layer for thin, uniform lighting.

With a dome or other membrane switch, we would have lost the tactile feedback.

PushGate maintained a superior tactile response, even under this extra layer".

"This is a win-win relationship.

AP's expertise in design enabled a superior product in a quick turnaround.

Erchonia's own innovative technology is enhanced with a high quality package", commented Tim Kuhn, Vice President Business Development, Duraswitch.

"For Duraswitch, we continue to see design wins from our licensees in the medical industry, a key market for our technologies".
