Duraswitch licensee Tastitalia has secured a new design using Duraswitch PushGate technology for the commercial foodservice industry.

Duraswitch licensee Tastitalia has secured a new design using Duraswitch PushGate technology for the commercial foodservice industry.

The project, control panels for hot chocolate vending machines, marks the third commercial appliance design win for Tastitalia this year.

Orders for commercial coffee machines and restaurant pizza ovens began production in June.

"The flexible design options of PushGate technology are apparent in this application", said Paolo Accottoli, owner and President of Tastitalia.

"We were able to incorporate an LED in the middle of the pushbutton without sacrificing tactile feel or reliability.

It's a very simple solution compared to traditional membrane switches".

Duraswitch's patented actuator allows placement of an indicator light in the middle of the key.

This low-cost construction not only saves space on the keypad by eliminating the need to place LEDs beside the target key, but also helps protect the LED from damage.

Tim Kuhn, Vice President, Business Development for Duraswitch noted: "Tastitalia is a strong proponent of Duraswitch technologies, and was our Licensee of the Year in 2002.

By promoting additional benefits like flexibility in illumination options, Tastitalia has seen rapid success in increasing their business".
