Big buttons take control of treadmill
Patented Large-Key PushGate technology has been designed into a treadmill control panel.
PushGate pushbutton technology is being used for diagnostic equipment and Thincoder rotary switch technology is being used for volume controls in an MRI panel.
Duraswitch technologies were first used on X-ray control panels for this major medical OEM.
"Our customer likes Duraswitch technology", said David Hildner Memtron's National Sales Manager.
"The feel of PushGate under an elastomer, and the integration capabilities of Thincoder were key reasons that they originally tried this new technology".
Tim Kuhn, Duraswitch Vice President Business Development said: "Memtron's knowledge of how our PushGate pushbutton and Thincoder rotary dial technologies match the needs of the medical industry continues to make them a strong supplier for the medical market".
Memtron's new designs using PushGate exploit the dual-output capability of the technology, enabling one switch closure with partial pressure and another when the key is fully depressed.
This function cannot be achieved with traditional metal dome technology.
