A new video package from Dynamix Technology will help companies to train assembly operators in through-hole and surface mount components, leading to association-sponsored certification The two-video set begins by explaining the function of active and passive electronic components, reviews the basic through-hole and surface mount assembly processes and covers component part numbers, bill of materials, component reference designators, markings, orientation, polarity plus resistor values and tolerances

VT-64C illustrates all the common through-hole and surface mount components types, including: through-hole resistors and capacitors; diodes and potentiometers; pin grid arrays and sockets; DIPs and SIPs; transistors and LEDs; inductors and chokes; torroids and filters; fuses and breakers; switches and relays; crystals and voltage regulators; thermistors and connect; headers and jumpers; and surface mount component types such as QFPs, PLCCs, rectangular chips, MELFs, SOICs, moulded tantalum capacitors, SOTs and DPAKs.

The training certification test includes 50 questions and can be used by as many students as desired.

An IPC training certificate is included for those who score 70% or above on the test.

The package includes a leader's guide with course outline, learning objectives and chapter review questions to prepare students for the final examination.

A DVD also available with all the inherent benefits of the latest digital media including chapter selection and optional navigation with visual training prompts.

A preview of the video is available on the Dynamix Technology website.
