PCB specifications updated
Dynamix Technology has released enhanced versions of two of the most popular IPC documents.
"These companies build millions of lead-free assemblies and shared their expertise with our standards development committees", says Jack Crawford, IPC Director of Certification and Assembly Technology.
Both documents have been adopted for use by the US Department of Defense (DoD).
IPC-A-610D, "Acceptability of electronic assemblies", is a must for all quality assurance and assembly departments, IPC-A-610D illustrates industry-accepted workmanship criteria for electronics assemblies through full-colour photographs and illustrations.
Topics include lead-free, component orientation and soldering criteria for through-hole, SMT and discrete wiring assemblies, mechanical assembly, cleaning, marking, coating, and laminate requirements.
IPC-A-610 is invaluable for all inspectors, operators and trainers.
Revision D has 732 new and updated illustrations of acceptability criteria - many for lead-free - and has been critically reviewed for clarity and accuracy.
The document synchronises to the requirements expressed in other industry consensus documents and is used with the material and process standard, IPC J-STD-001.
IPC-J-STD-001D, "Requirements for soldered electrical and electronic assemblies", has been reformatted, making it easier to find acceptance criteria.
IPC-J-STD-001D is world-recognised as the sole industry-consensus standard covering soldering materials and processes.
This revision now includes support for lead-free manufacturing, in addition to easier to understand criteria for materials, methods and verification for producing quality soldered interconnections and assemblies.
The requirements for all three classes of construction are included.
Full colour illustrations are provided for clarity.
This standard fully complements IPC-A-610D.
