Multimedia-rich SBC shrinks to 5.25in footprint
A powerful new 5.25in single board computer aims at embedded applications requiring dynamic multimedia and data processing capabilities in a small-footprint solution.
A powerful new 5.25in single board computer aims at embedded applications requiring dynamic multimedia and data processing capabilities in a small-footprint solution.
Using an Intel Pentium 4/Celeron processor and SiS651 chipset, the ECM-5710 provides high speed performance up to 3.06GHz with 533MHz FSB, and features a DDR socket for up to 1Gbyte of DDR 333 SDRAM, together with LVDS, TV-out, audio and dual LAN interfaces.
The SiS651 architecture works perfectly with the Pentium 4 processor, enabling balanced memory usage between graphics and the system for optimal performance.
Its onboard SiS651 chipset delivers ultimate graphics support with integrated AGP4X 2D and 3D graphics engine that supports LCD/CRT with a frame buffer of up to 64Mbyte.
The ECM-5710 supports TV-out and LVDS with two digital graphics input data streams.
The TV encoder device encodes a graphics signal of up to 1024 x 768 resolution and outputs video signals complying with NTSC or Pal standards.
The LVDS transmitter operates at pixel speeds up to 165MHz per link, supporting 1280 x 1024 panels at 60Hz refresh rate.
Furthermore, the ECM-5710 features AC97 2.0 compliance with optional support for line-in, line-out, mic, CD audio in, line out, speaker out.
The Ethernet function is provided with two Realtek or Intel 10/100Base-Tx Ethernet controllers.
The board comes with one IEEE1394 and two USB 2.0 ports that deliver increased maximum bandwidth with a peak transfer rate up to 480Mbit/s for I/O-intensive applications.
Other features include four serial ports, one parallel poet and dual UltraDMA ports supporting four EIDE devices up to 133MHz.
One CompactFlash card Type I/II and one 32bit PCI slot are available for additional expansion such as Gigabit LAN, wireless and optional storage solutions.
Incorporating powerful Pentium 4 performance in small-footprint form factor, the ECM-5710 is ideal for Internet, telecommunications, voice-on-demand, image processing, medical, military, POS, POI, kiosk, ATM banking, web payphone, automation, security and other embedded applications.
