Evalue Technology has launched the ECM-3711 single board computer (SBC) with the VIA CN700 chipset optimised for the VIA V4 (Eden and C7) processor.
The compact and powerful ECM-3711 features single 5V ATX power input, jumperless serial port settings and advanced STR (suspend to RAM) power management for enhanced ease of configuration, power efficiency and total cost of ownership.
The ECM-3711 delivers high system performance and rich functionality, including dual view display, dual gigabit LAN, dual SATA, 5.1 channel Audio, two COM ports, four USB ports and 16bit GPIO.
Additionally, the ECM-3711 offers options for fanless embedded designs, as seen in Evalue's latest barebone system the EES-3711, which is expected to be released within the next few months.
The onboard Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) V4 Eden processor features a low power design that provides an optimised balance between power consumption and system performance.
Capable of running up to 1.5GHz, the system consumes just 12W when operating at full speed.
Accommodating the VIA PadLock security engine, the system board provides a platform approach to computer security and ensures uncompromising security performance.
The compact system delivers a highly advanced solution with up to 1Gbyte DDR2 400/533 SDRAM, AC97 5.1 channel audio and dual 1000Based-T Ethernet ports for even the most demanding of multimedia applications.
Incorporating the S3 UniChrome 2D/3D graphic engine, the ECM-3711 delivers exceptional graphics quality and extensive support for all types of panels.
Its onboard dual-channel 18/24bit LVDS interface supports UXGA panel and dual independent displays.
Two featured designs in the ECM-3711 make power management and system configuration functional and simple.
The ECM-3711 contains an automatic MPU controller that enables switching between 5 or 5/12V input for high power functions such as 5.1 channel audio.
The controller emulates ATX power supply enabling full compliant support (ACPI 2.1C) for both STD and STR modes.
The same architecture efficiently manages power and performance by allocating +5 or +12V to respective components.
A jumperless RS232/422/485 serial port function allows system engineers to directly configure serial port settings from BIOS, Windows or DOS without the need to remove the system case.
