Mobile data cards set for expansion
Elan Digital Systems is predicting that the falling costs of Internet access via GPRS/CDMA and 3G data services will mean that businesses will stop using landlines in favour of mobile data cards.
Elan Digital is a member of PCI Special Interest Group and together with its many years of experience of PC interface design, development and manufacture, is able to enhance and look at cost efficiency as it redevelops existing card designs into the new format.
Elan has more recently been heavily involved in USB design programmes including its own VMB5000, a very high speed bridge chip.
This chip was the first of its kind in the market, and since its launch in 2004, is now in use in mass produced communications products worldwide.
With on site prototype and low volume manufacturing facilities plus mass production in China Elan can provide a fast, economical and integrated design and manufacturing service.
All products are designed and manufactured in accordance with latest RoHS requirements.
Elan has also registered and applied for a significant number of important patents for design techniques which reduce time to market and add product value, and will be using these to develop the next generation of Express Cards even more swiftly.
