Compact encoder includes dual redundancy
The 62R is the latest to the 62 Series of Grayhill optical encoders from EAO.
The 62R is the latest to the 62 Series of Grayhill optical encoders from EAO.
Measuring only 12.70mm, EAO claims it to be the smallest optical encoder currently available on the market that is equipped with a second encoder to provide a dual-redundancy feature.
Dual redundancy means that the 62R optical encoder is ideally suited for applications such as avionic cockpit control systems and patient monitoring medical equipment where failures could be critical.
A range of options is available, including the choice of 16, 24 or 32 detent positions.
The 62R can also be customised to meet specific customer requirements.
An integral pushbutton can be included; similarly the customer has a choice of PCB pin or cable terminations and cable lengths.
Further customisation with regard to resolutions and shaft and bushing configurations is also possible.
The 62R range has an operational lifetime of one million rotational cycles and is compatible with CMOS, TTL and HCMOS Logic.
Operating voltage of the 62R is rated at 5.0 +/-0.25V DC and its supply current at 30mA maximum.
Power consumption is rated at 150mW maximum.
