To meet the increasing demand for open-frame "bare bones" panel PCs, EarthLCD has released the industry's first with an integrated 12.1in LCD.

The BBPC-12 is built around the popular mini-ITX form factor, advantageous because it allows integrators the freedom to choose their own mini-ITX motherboard and components, thereby reducing costs and increasing flexibility.

The BBPC-12 touts a unique open frame design for easy drop-in or rear-mount applications.

Housed in an aluminium chassis with a 200W power supply and an industrial 12.1in NEC LCD, this LCD package opens up a whole new set of options for integrators.

The BBPC-12 also includes an auto-off backlight, high contrast ratio, XGA resolution, auto scaling, optional touch screen and an optional antireflective coating for sunlight readability.

The BBPC-12 is ideal for just about any embedded application, including kiosk, hospitality, POS and POI.

"The BBPC-12 product evolved as an answer meet to customer demands", says Tris Mahaffay, Product Manager of EarthLCD.

"Integrators needed flexibility to meet the demands of their customers' specific application, and BBPC-12 offers that flexibility at an extremely inexpensive price".

BBPC-12 has a preliminary street price of $399 and is flanked by a family of panel PC products in many sizes and configurations.
