Easby Electronics is stocking a choice of very popular thin-film surface mount precision resistors from Meggitt, including a very low ohm series which is ideal for current sensing.

Easby Electronics is stocking a choice of very popular thin-film surface mount precision resistors from Meggitt, including a very low ohm series which is ideal for current sensing.

The Meggitt RN Series precision resistors are nichrome thin film chip resistors available direct from Easby with a temperature coefficient of resistance of just +/-10ppm/C and tolerances of +/-0.1%.

They offer excellent stability at high frequencies and are suitable for operating voltages up to 100V DC.

Easby is stocking the popular 0805 case size, but the latest 0603, and the 1206 and 1210, case sizes are available on short lead times as are 15ppm/C and 25ppm/C and lower tolerance resistors.

The full range of values is from 100ohm up to 1Mohm.

The resistors are supplied in strips of 100, but can also be ordered on reels of 1000 parts.

The Meggitt TL Series offers noninductive metal alloy chip resistors designed for current sensing operations.

Able to dissipate up to 1W at 70C, they are available from Easby in 2512 packages in values from 5 to 75mohm.

The low ohmic devices are particularly suited to car engine management units to act as current sensing shunt resistors.

The SM resistors are supplied on tape and reel containing 2000 parts.

Also available are alternative case sizes of 1206 and 1210.
