Four new series of Johanson Dielectrics high-voltage, surface mount (SM) ceramic capacitors complement the lower voltage ceramics offered in the Easby catalogue.

Four new series of Johanson Dielectrics high-voltage, surface mount (SM) ceramic capacitors complement the lower voltage ceramics offered in the Easby catalogue The new series are suitable for applications which include lighting ballast circuits, DC/DC convertors, line-to-ground interfaces, industrial control circuits, power supplies and board-space-saving EMI filtering

The high voltage Johanson Dielectrics SM multilayer ceramic capacitors, now available from Easby offer rated working voltages up to 5kV DC and capacitances from 120pF to 0.820uF.

They are designed to offer compact solutions: the R15 Series, for example, has capacitances up to 2700pF, at 1000V DC rated working voltage, in an 0805 case size which is just 1.4mm deep.

These capacitors are suitable for applications such as lighting ballast circuits and DC/DC convertors.

Johanson Dielectrics Type TC ceramic 2211 case size chip capacitors are Class X1/Y2 compliant and certified to meet international safety standards.

Capacitance values range from 10 to 1000pF rated at 5000V DC and 250V AC, making them suitable for isolation of AC surges and lightning protection in line-to-ground communication interface applications.

Type SC ceramic chip capacitors are also designed for AC voltage surge and lightning protection in line-to-ground interface applications.

They come in four different case sizes, from 1808 to 2220, offering capacitances from 5 to 4700pF for X1, X2, Y2 or Y3 applications.

Johanson Dielectrics offers a number of families of low ESR capacitors in special chip sizes.

With rated working voltages from 500V DC to 5kV DC, they are suitable as replacements for tantalums and are suitable for applications that include industrial control circuits, PSUs and surge protection.

For superior noise suppression, Johanson Dielectrics X2Y EMI filter chip capacitors employ a unique, patented design in which one component replaces multiple capacitors and inductors.

The 0603 to 1812 case-sized parts feature common shielding electrodes that form a "Faraday cage" around traditional capacitor electrodes.

This creates two matched capacitors enabling simultaneous line-to-line and line-to-ground filtering.

The balanced design also eliminates temperature, voltage and aging performance differences.

The X2Y filter virtually eliminates parasitic inductance and provides superior filter and decoupling performance, for applications including DC motors and broadband filtering.
