He was recently appointed as Group IT Services Director at Virgin Group where he is responsible for the strategic alignment of IT within the organisation.
Prior to this, he held the position of Global Programme Director of Mobile Business with the Virgin Group where he was responsible for driving the development of new Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), while ensuring synergy across existing operations.
"The decision to appoint Gareth to this role comes at a time when elata is growing rapidly and developing important customer and partner relationships, whilst expanding the elata senses product portfolio", said Gavin Freed, CEO at elata.

Prior to joining Virgin, Lewis was a partner in the Telecommunications Practise at KPMG Consulting where he oversaw the implementation of KPMG Consulting's telecomms systems integration practice across Europe.
He has also held senior posts with Unisys and Digital Equipment Corporation.
Lewis joins elata's other non executive director, Mark Farmer, who is well known in the industry for his work with several successful telecomms software businesses including Cramer Systems and Metrica.
