Sensitech signs for wireless support

Ember Corporation is working with Sensitech, a leading provider of cold chain information and analysis for the food and pharmaceutical markets.
Sensitech will be integrating Ember's embedded networking technology into its TempTale, temperature monitoring instruments used to log temperatures in shipments ranging from fresh produce to vaccines.
"This partnership with Sensitech gives Ember another exciting opportunity to demonstrate the business value of embedded wireless networking", said Jeff Grammer, CEO of Ember.
"Every day, billions of dollars of temperature-sensitive goods are transported from one location to another - from fresh grapes selling for a couple dollars per pound to life-saving vaccines that cost hundreds of times more".
"By providing an accurate picture of the treatment of goods in transit, Sensitech helps their customers take control of these sensitive products".
Sensitech products, with the wireless Ember technology built into them, will allow the receiver of temperature-sensitive goods to know immediately, before accepting the shipment, if products have remained at the proper temperature for the entire trip.
With the current generation of cold chain monitoring products, recipients have to unload the pallets of product and locate a number of devices buried deep within the shipment before they are able to determine if the goods are acceptable.
"Sensitech protects billions of dollars of customer assets around the world every year", said Eric B Schultz, Sensitech's CEO.
"Whether it is for food or pharmaceuticals, extending our technology to include Ember's intelligent wireless will save our customers time, give them greater control over losses, ease the acceptance process, and ultimately strengthen their bottom line by allowing fast and accurate flow of data straight from the loading dock to the corporate office".
"We're looking forward to the development process".
"Sensitech's example of an invisible supply-chain management solution offers customers shipping services with enhanced asset visibility", said Ian Barkin, Managing Director of the Focal Point Group.
"As a result, Sensitech's customers will be able to monitor shipment quality from start to finish".
"The partnership of Sensitech and Ember highlights a growing trend occurring in business: customers aren't just buying products - they are buying a guarantee of quality and service".
"Companies that can offer this will gain significant strategic advantage in the marketplace".
Ember's embedded networking software uses a mesh network routing algorithm, creating extremely resilient, self-organising and self-healing networks, with very low power requirements and no single point of failure.
Ember-enabled devices automatically route traffic around the typical interference found in difficult radio conditions, resulting in increased flexibility in deployment, maintenance and operation.
