Ember Corporation has been named one of the Top 100 Innovators of 2004 by Red Herring.

Ember Corporation has been named one of the Top 100 Innovators of 2004 by Red Herring Ember's award-winning innovation stems from its efforts in creating a new market called the "Internet of things" in which consumer devices, buildings, machines and other everyday things that touch people's lives can suddenly communicate and work together

Ember also plays a leadership role in the adoption of the IEEE802.15.4 and ZigBee standards which underlie the technology, and its chip platform serves as National Technical Systems' (NTS) "Golden Suite" by which all other 802.15.4 products will be tested for standards compliance and interoperability.

"Winning the Top 100 Innovators award is a great honour in light of all the vendors that have jumped into our market", said Jeff Grammer, Ember's President and CEO.

"This was Ember's breakout year, in which we were first to market with real customers running real applications.

We reached high-volume production of our 802.15.4 wireless semiconductor solutions".

"Also, Ember University trained more than 100 developers who are now building applications using Ember developer kits".

"This award validates our progress".

Red Herring's editorial staff evaluated over 1200 submissions from 900 companies.

The Editors used a careful analysis of financial data as well as subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development.

"Selection for the Innovation 100 puts a company in an elite group".

"The Editors worked hard to identify the companies who will benefit from the important technology trends in the coming year", said Joel Dreyfuss, Editor-in-Chief of Red Herring.
