TPG is a novel potting material that comes in the form of a thermoplastic gel.

With highly elastic characteristics that allow it to expand and contract to form a flexible yet completely protective seal around electrical connections, the gel is, in effect, an insulating elastic liquid.

Formulated with nontoxic chemicals and based on hydrocarbon resin technology, the new gel is highly water repellent, giving it excellent electrical insulation properties.

As such it is ideal for the protection of all electrical connections, including telephone sockets.

When a plug is inserted into a socket coated with the resin, the gel retracts and forms a protective seal over the connection.

When the plug is released, the gel returns back to its original form.

The nontoxic single-component formulation means that there is no mixing involved to produce the gel, which is supplied in disposable plastic pouches.

Safe and convenient to use, TPG is designed to be used with hot melt application equipment, and has excellent temperature flexibility, being effective between -60 and +70C.

The gel was originally developed over two years for use in the hot and humid conditions of Portugal.

At certain times of the year, condensation runs down the internal walls of buildings, interfering with the electrical connections in plug-in telephone sockets, so a product was needed to protect these.
