Electrolube DCA-FD suits harsh environments

An Electrolube product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Nov 23, 2009

Electrolube has exhibited the DCA-FD - a modified silicone conformal coating that is touch-dry in 20 minutes - at Productronica.

The company claimed increased solids content of the DCA-FD gives 35 per cent greater coverage per litre compared with standard DCA, to provide a waste and cost saving per substrate.

Fast-Dry DCA has a wide operating temperature range and is suitable for a range of commercial and military PCB applications, particularly in harsh, high-humidity and salt-spray conditions.

DCA-FD has reduced VOC levels compared with standard DCA, according to Electrolube.

It has good adhesion and is resistant to most solvents, lubricants and chemicals.

It is also highly resistant to mould growth and UV light.

The product can be sprayed, dipped or brushed, is RoHS compliant and meets UL746CQMJU2, DEF-STAN 59/47 (4), and IPC-CC-830 standards.
