New from Elantec Semiconductor, the EL1881C is a low-cost low-power sync separator.

New from Elantec Semiconductor, the EL1881C is a low-cost low-power sync separator.

The EL1881C is pin compatible with the industry-standard LM1881, as well as with Elantec's high-performance EL4581C.

Providing the standard video timing outputs, the EL1881C is designed for use in component and in composite video systems, where it can process NTSC, Pal, Secam, S-video, RGB, and YUV video signals.

The EL1881C can be used to reduce power in existing designs, and provides a cost-effective solution for new video designs.

The low power and low cost of the EL1881C make it an ideal choice for high-volume video applications such as televisions, projectors, processing boards and security cameras.

Michael Jennings, Director of Strategic Marketing, Video and Amplifier Products, said, "The EL1881C is a lower power, pin-compatible replacement for the LM1881.

Fabricated on a CMOS process, the EL1881C reduces power consumption to a maximum of only 15mW on a 5V supply, a 70% savings over the LM1881.

We have priced this part competitively, and expect the EL1881C to find design wins in a number of high volume consumer applications".

The EL1881C is available in both the 8-pin SOIC and 8-pin P-DIP packages.

It is priced at $1.15 in quantities of 1000-pieces.
