Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Apr 20, 2004

Elgar Electronics Corp has signed Keithley Instruments to distribute its programmable AC and DC power supplies in China, Taiwan and Japan.

Elgar Electronics Corp has selected Keithley Instruments as a distributor of its programmable AC and DC power supplies marketed under the worldwide recognised brand names of Elgar, Sorensen and Power Ten.

Keithley will provide sales, support and authorised service through their world-class sales and service centres located in China, Taiwan and Japan.

This alliance enables Keithley to offer a more complete range of quality test and measurement products and services while providing Elgar with a distribution force highly familiar with the markets and applications addressed by Elgar's products.

Elgar's products include AC power sources, programmable DC power systems and loads, solar array simulators for satellite manufacturing, and integrated rack power subsystem services.

Keithley products include highly accurate instruments and data acquisition products that measure low levels of voltage, resistance, current, capacitance, and charge, along with complete system solutions for high volume production and assembly testing.

"This alliance leverages Elgar into the fast growing Asian market at a time when we are completely redefining our products and corporate image to support the growing complexity of electrical power programming in ATE, process control and OEM primary power applications", said Philip Joosten, Elgar's Vice President of International Sales and Business Development.

"We are very happy to be moving into the future with such a progressive force as Keithley Instruments behind our products".
