Software turns source into Airbus power tester
The ABD100 test suite is a powerful software package that greatly simplifies power bus compliance testing of components and subsystems for the Airbus A380 aircraft.
A company representative commented: "We are very pleased with the up-front support Elgar provided to us".
"During the design-phase of our system we needed several of the Elgar prototype power supplies".
"Based on the system results, Elgar made several design modifications and kept supporting us until our design phase was completed".
"Elgar is one of the few companies we have seen who did the up-front work in partnership without really knowing what the success would be".
"We always try to work in partnership with our customers to prove design concepts and share some risk", said Phillip Joosten, Elgar's Director of International Sales, "mainly when we can support the latest innovative technologies of our customers".
The Elgar SFA DC high-power current source supports lasers with a pulse repetition range of 3 to 50kHz, and pulse durations of 30ns upwards.
To do this, a DC current slew-rate of 350 to 450A/ms is required.
These (extreme ultraviolet) high-power laser systems are designed to enable economical high volume production use of laser applications in ablative lithography, microelectronics, PCB production, electronics packaging, machine tools, and many others.
