Elma has extended its range of ergonomically designed handles with three new CompactPCI models, covering standard and telecomms/H110 applications The Classic version suits conventional CPCI applications and is available either with or without built-in locking

The long-handled Telecom version offers a 60% increase in leverage to control the high insertion/removal forces encountered in high-pin-count CPCI applications such as H110.

By introducing a long handled version of its hot-swap handle, Elma has reduced the operating force needed and ensures a smooth insertion/ejection action.

The Telecom long handle is ideal for H110 applications where conventional handles are often either too inconvenient or too difficult to operate.

Full IEEE standard hot-swap support is available in both Classic and Telecom versions, with built-in latching as standard, and both versions are available either with or without ESD pin.

The Classic is also available without latch for conventional applications.

All handles have been designed with a simple snap-in fixing for the optional matching microswitch assembly, to enable system monitoring of handle operation.

The special microswitch has a rated life of 30,000 operations, and is supplied preterminated with a Molex connector for easy connection to the PCB.

The UL94V-0 rated plastic handle includes a galvanised die-cast tin cardholder, and is supplied complete with PCB mounting screws.
