The new TCM series of temperature controllers are designed for use with thermoelectric coolers (TECs), also known as Peltier devices.

The new TCM series of temperature controllers are designed for use with thermoelectric coolers (TECs), also known as Peltier devices.

These offer precise temperature control over the range of -50 to +100C.

The devices are able to cool and heat so can provide stable temperatures with varying ambient conditions at up to 0.001C stability.

Typical applications are device testing in the optoelectronics industry or sample stabilisations for pharmaceutical or biomedical applications.

The unit is versatile, compatible with a wide range of sensors, including Pt100, LM35, LM50, LM60 and thermistors.

Different versions are available for different Peltier devices with 5, 10 and 25A drive.

The TCM unit comes complete with its own PC control software for allowing either operator/remote control or one time configuration for stand-alone operation.

It is highly configurable, allowing the user to select sensor type, setpoint, PID terms, control type, drive limits, alarm points and operational limits.

The unit is available as either a PCB for easy incorporation into another unit or as a module for stand-alone use.

The unit also provides advanced features, such as auto-tuning of the PID where the unit measures the thermodynamics and adjusts the PID parameters to suit.

Also other test features for temperature ramping and cycling.

Managing director Andy Hinks said: "This unit is a versatile, comprehensive solution for Peltier temperature control".

"It is easy to setup and use, via the PC software supplied, reducing the configuration time and expertise needed to a minimum".

"It is highly cost effective against a benchtop controller and can also be used stand-alone".

In addition the company offers a range of complementary products, including power supplies, sensor leads and temperature control assemblies.
