Elo's COACh IIs incorporates a power-down mode in which power consumption can be reduced by as much as 95% (typically 150uA at 5V, 75uA at 3.3V).
The compact size, lower operating voltage and reduced power consumption of the new COACh IIs, and Elo's AccuTouch five-wire resistive touch technology make the best solution for OEMs who have been looking for stability, reliability and performance of the touch components for the portable and embedded applications.
The COACh IIs is also fully compatible with Elo's SmartSet protocol and all Elo's standard drivers.
"Elo developed the new smaller, lower-power COACh IIs in response to a market that is moving to smaller and more compact products requiring lower power consumption and more sophisticated design", says Frank Shen, Elo's strategic market manager.
"Elo's COACh has always been the most cost-effective chipset solution.
COACh forms an integral link between the AccuTouch five-wire resistive touchscreen and the microprocessor, offering the best touch response along with excellent reliability and proven performance.
It is a natural progression to create the COACh IIs in response to the growing popularity of embedded OEM applications".
Elo also offers a development kit for COACh IIs, which includes the COACh IIs, a 10.4in AccuTouch flat antiglare touchscreen and the design manual.
