Elo TouchSystems has expanded its family of LCD touch monitors that feature the company's CarrollTouch next-generation infra-red touch technology.

Elo TouchSystems has expanded its family of LCD touch monitors that feature the company's CarrollTouch next-generation infra-red touch technology with the addition of enhanced versions of the popular 1229L 12in LCD multifunction and 1525L 15in LCD desktop "designed for touch" touch monitors The Entuitive 1229L can be configured with up to three integrated peripherals including an ergonomically placed magnetic stripe reader (MSR), biometric fingerprint recognition device and a rear-facing customer display

The Entuitive 1525L desktop touch monitor comes with a specially designed stable base that can be bolted down, side controls that can be locked out in public, clean cable routing and a locking hinge to ensure protection in high-traffic environments.

The new 1229L and 1525L touch monitors with CarrollTouch infra-red touch sensors are targeted toward a variety of applications in the retail, hospitality, medical, gaming and amusement markets where customers will benefit from the increased brightness, clarity and durability of Elo's infra-red touch technology.

Both touch monitors are available with a serial or USB touch interface and agency approvals for sale worldwide.

Elo's next-generation CarrollTouch infra-red touch technology features a low-profile bezel with nearly pixel-level touch resolution and no parallax, and operates in extreme lighting conditions.

"Using CarrollTouch infra-red technology means that the 1229L and 1525L are virtually calibration free, providing a stable, 'drift-free' operation for a touch response that's always accurate", says Mike Sigona, Elo's Marketing Manager Europe.

"Whether the monitors are free-standing on a countertop or wall mounted with their built-in VESA mount, adding Elo's CarrollTouch infra-red touch sensors to these popular touch monitors offers an attractive display with a bright, clear, sharp and colourful image".

Elo chose to add its CarrollTouch infra-red sensor interface to the 1229L and 1525L touch monitors because the clear glass overlay provides one of the highest light transmissions in the market.

"There is no compromise of image quality or colour purity", says Sigona.

Elo's CarrollTouch infra-red touch sensors also offer a wide range of input options including finger, gloved hand and credit card.

"Both the 1229L and 1525L LCD touch monitors offer multilingual remote on-screen display (OSD), and removable base as standard", says Sigona.

"The 1229L 12in LCD touch monitor also features an integrated USB hub with two USB connectors available for direct connectivity to peripherals such as scanners and printers".

The CarrollTouch infra-red sensors are also sealed against contaminants.
