Touchmonitors handle the rigours of public use

An Elo Touchsystems product story

Liquid crystal display rear mount kiosk touchmonitors are aimed at OEMs, systems integrators and value-added resellers in the retail kiosk and gaming/amusement markets.

Elo TouchSystems has announced two new liquid crystal display (LCD) rear mount kiosk touchmonitors aimed at OEMs, systems integrators and value-added resellers in the retail kiosk and gaming/amusement markets.

The new 1739L 17in and 1939L 19in LCD rear mount touchmonitors feature high quality panels with Elo's all glass IntelliTouch surface wave touch technology for the utmost in optical quality and durability, all packaged in a compact form factor.

Both touchmonitors feature a unique injection-moulded minibezel with a watertight seal that makes them ideal for the rigour of public use in retail kiosk or gaming/amusement environments.

The touchmonitors complement Elo's existing family of 12.1, 15, 17 and 19in LCD rear mount touchmonitors that feature Elo's range of touch technologies.

Elo kiosk touchmonitors have a long-lasting product cycle because the enclosure is controlled by the company's specifications and tooling.

Unlike standard LCDs which can change form factor every few months, Elo's kiosk touchmonitors have a long standing record of being available unchanged through all phases of project rollouts, and even in the future when spares might be needed.

This is a critical factor for kiosk integrators, who do not wish to modify a kiosk at a remote site when a touchmonitor needs changing.

Elo's 1739L 17in and 1939L 19in LCD rear mount touchmonitors feature top quality panels with stunning visual quality and wide viewing angles to better attract customers.

The 1739L has a viewing angle of 178 x 178 degrees and offers a typical contrast ratio of 1500:1 at 280cd/m2 brightness.

The 1939L has a 170 x 170 degree viewing angle and contrast ratio of 1000:1 at 250 cd/m2 brightness.

The pure glass IntelliTouch surface wave touchscreen maintains graphic quality and clarity, reducing the light transmission only slightly to 257 and 230cd/m2, respectively, while preserving colour purity unlike other technologies.

The 1739L and 1939L touchmonitors, like all of Elo's LCD kiosk touchmonitors, feature a unique injection-moulded minibezel and virtually invisible watertight seal, plus a choice of mounting options including VESA and rear mount with and without the bezel.

The new minibezel has a narrower design than previous models, allowing even smaller cabinet designs.

The two touchmonitors have built-in support for both a serial and USB touch interface, multilingual on-screen display (OSD) and worldwide power.

3D design files are available for both models for easy integration into complete kiosk or gaming machines.

"As always, Elo has put a lot of thought behind the new 17 and 19in LCD rear mount touchmonitors", says Mike Sigona, Elo's Market Manager.

"Their high quality, compact design, competitive cost, and global agency approvals including full RoHS compliance make them an economical choice for applications in the retail kiosk and gaming/amusement markets".
