An Elmos Semiconductor product story

The new Elmos Semiconductor standard product catalogue can be downloaded from the company's website.

The new Elmos Semiconductor standard product catalogue can be downloaded from the company's website.

On more than 100 pages 45 products are laid out in detail with features, application examples, descriptions, pinning and package specifications.

"We provide our customers with a comprehensive and structured overview of our standard products".

"This makes it easier for them to find the right solution for their application", says Dr Klaus Weyer, CEO of Elmos Semiconductor.

"Beside customer specific ASICs we give our customers the opportunity to choose from a great number of standard products".

"Thereby we can respond to their demands even faster".

In parallel to the publication of the new product catalogue Elmos has created a separate sales unit solely to advise customers on ASSPs (application specific standard products).

In comparison with the previous year's product catalogue 14 new products have been added.

In addition to established products such as bus ICs, DC/DC convertors, motor driver ICs, driver ICs, I/O ICs and sensor ICs, new product families of ripple counter ICs and sensor interface ICs have been included in the 2005 catalogue.

The ripple detection procedure, patented by Elmos, charts the revolutions of DC motors without any use of mechanics or sensors.

The integrated circuit analyses the data of the typical characteristic curve of the motor current and determines the individual position and number of revolutions.

Altogether four different ripple counter ICs, each with its own specifications, are presented in the new standard product catalogue.

Sensor interface ICs work for instance on the basis of the Halios principle.

With the help of this optoelectronic principle, contactless keys or switches can be developed.

They require no mechanics and are independent of ambient light.

Hall sensors and PIR controllers are available in addition to these Halios-based sensor interface ICs.
