Conro adds profiling to soldering
portfolio

Embedded Data Systems has appointed Conro Electronics as authorised distributor for its SolderStar range of temperature profiling systems within the UK.

Embedded Data Systems has appointed Conro Electronics as authorised distributor for its SolderStar range of temperature profiling systems within the UK Mark Stansfield MD of EDS said: "Conro are proving an excellent partner within the UK electronics market, the SolderStar systems complement Conro's existing range of products, namely Indium solders and Pace soldering equipment." Neil Ward of Conro commented: "With the move to lead free looming on the horizon, many of our customers are now starting to assess the impact of the new lead free process and changes to their solder products

Indium has a strong range of solder products for existing and the new Pb-free solder processes, the SolderStar software package has predefined specifications for our solder pastes allowing us to rapidly evaluate the changes required to their reflow solder profiles.

The new SolderStar 'graphical profile prediction' tool allows paste change over and process set-point changes to be simulated offline evaluated by the SMT engineer.

This removes much of the guess work needed with some profiling systems and results in quicker profile setups and less production downtime".
