Multiboard emulator scales up to bigger challenges
A novel advanced, multiboard hardware verification system extends the capacity of designs from 1.5 million to 12 million ASIC-equivalent gates.
Platform tackles Australian ASIC bugs
Canon Information System Research of Australia has chosen the ZeBu verification platform to verify and debug a new line of ASICs.
The IP provider can take advantage of the unique features of the classic ZeBu product, such as interactive debugging, comprehensive test environment and fast execution speed to generate an emulated IP model; and through ZeBu-IP the IP client gets speed, accuracy and interoperability at a price point never achieved before.
By trading off hardware debugging not required by the software developer for lower price, the embedded software designer can now benefit from a low-cost solution.
The designer can still enjoy the speed of emulation with the accuracy of an actual hardware representation of the design and the interoperability made possible by supporting the most complete hardware and software verification environment.
According to Lauro Rizzatti, Vice President of Marketing at EVE: "ZeBu-IP is the ideal tool for applications in which the IP consists of a processing unit executing embedded software, such as a CPU or a DSP.
In this scenario, the IP client is a software developer who can validate software applications at several megahertz with an accurate representation of the hardware system".
Further, by serving a broad base of applications, ZeBu-IP grants IP providers one additional benefit in that they can reduce the number of IP models to be created and supported.
ZeBu-IP is priced at US $29,000 and is shipping.
