Integration speeds system-level verification
EVE has joined the Verisity Interoperability Partners programme and has integrated its ZeBu with Verisity's Specman Elite verification process automation solution.
Emulation and Verification Engineering (EVE) has joined the Verisity Interoperability Partners (VIP) programme and has integrated its ZeBu - or Zero Bugs - with Verisity's Specman Elite verification process automation solution to enable customers to achieve high performance system-level verification.
The integration of EVE's ZeBu and Verisity's Specman Elite provides an unprecedented increase in design verification productivity.
For example, EVE was able to verify a one million-gate ASIC at 25kHz - almost three orders of magnitude speed improvement over a simulation-based approach.
The graphics design, which consisted of 32 x 32bit RISC processors, was emulated by ZeBu and interfaced via ModelSim to a video RAM model described in the e verification language, the emerging IEEE standard verification language.
ZeBu is a hardware-assisted verification platform used to accelerate the verification process of ASIC and field programmable gate array (FPGA) designs and the software development cycle for embedded software designs.
Installed on a designer's desktop, ZeBu offers the same debugging capabilities found in high-end emulation systems, but at a higher speed and at a fraction of the cost.
"Specman Elite has become the industry's de facto standard verification process automation solution", affirms Lauro Rizzatti, Vice President of marketing at EVE.
"The integration of ZeBu and Specman Elite will enable design teams to cut the time spent verifying their chip and system designs".
The VIP programme enables Verisity's partners to develop and support their own integrations, allowing Verisity to foster the development of many interoperable verification solutions and give customers a wider choice of verification tools to choose from.
As a member in the programme, partner companies have committed to develop, test, support and maintain integrations between their products and Verisity's.
Verisity provides partners with licences, documentation, support and software updates.
"It's important for us to integrate with hardware-assisted verification solutions, such as EVE's ZeBu, to provide our customers with more interoperable solutions", remarks Dave Tokic, Director of Strategic marketing for Verisity.
"We welcome EVE to the VIP programme and look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship".
