Multimedia board speeds SoC verification
Scalable SoC verification environment can be tuned to perform all hardware and software validation tasks of any multimedia/portable SoC.
EVE has begun shipping the newest member of a growing vertical applications/market solutions offering of its ZeBu (for zero bugs) hardware-assisted verification family that serves the multimedia design community.
Using the MMB with ZeBu-UF, the system on chip (SoC) under verification can be connected to real peripherals or to test equipment to mimic a complete and scalable SoC verification environment tuned to perform all hardware and software validation tasks of any multimedia/portable SoC.
The MMB can be further expanded via daughter modules to accommodate additional interfaces such as HDMI, still digital camera and video digital analogue convertor.
Applications encompass designs serving the multimedia and portable devices industry.
"Early on, we realised that ZeBu could offer substantial peripheral support and gain wide acceptance from the industry", says Lauro Rizzatti, Worldwide Marketing Vice President and General Manager of EVE-USA.
"With the introduction of this new board, augmented by our library of high-performance transactors and memory IP, ZeBu strengthens our position in the multimedia SoC verification market".
The MMB is complemented by an audio/video (A/V) toolkit that includes format convertors intellectual property (IP) blocks, software drivers and high-speed streaming transactors to provide a flexible configuration of MMB interfaces.
The A/V toolkit also supports the ability to capture and playback audio/video data streams from/to the SoC under verification implemented in ZeBu.
ZeBu creates an environment that merges real and/or virtual peripheral and protocol IP for system-level verification.
SoC and application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) verification is accelerated when a design mapped onto ZeBu is connected to a set of peripherals and run at several megahertz speed at the transaction level and/or in-circuit emulation (ICE).
The multimedia board is shipping now, priced at US $15,000.
The A/V toolkit is priced at US $5000, including drivers and application software.
