Endwave Defense Systems, has released YIG (Yttrium Iron Garnet) frequency sources with high spectral purity needed for FMCW radar, microwave point-to-point radio, and instrumentation applications Aside from their low close-in noise characteristic, they provide large tunable bandwidths in comparison to Dielectric Resonator Oscillators (DRO)

Endwave provides YIGs up through Ku-Band, and these high fundamental frequencies also minimize spurious signals in advanced radars.

Proprietary shock-mounting techniques minimize microphonics.

Endwave YIGS are available in two configurations, Micro-YIG and Mini-YIG, to address a range of packaging and operating parameters.

These YIG Oscillators can be operated in an unlocked free-running mode, providing phase noise better than -105dBc/Hz@10 kHz offset, and -128dBc/Hz@100 kHz offset.

In addition, these local oscillators can be combined with phase-lock loop circuitry to form full Endwave synthesizer solutions.
