Epcos has appointed Acal Electronics as its master distributor for ferrite products in the UK and Ireland This appointment is the latest milestone in a successful business relationship spanning over 25 years and is intended to give customers more comprehensive, value-added service

Epcos is the world's second-largest manufacturer of passive electronic components and a true broadliner.

Products in which Epcos is the world market leader account for 50% of sales, while those in which the company is number one in Europe make up a further 40%.

In ferrites, Epcos is the European market leader.

Acal, a leading European distributor of components, provides global manufacturers with specialist services for design-ins, sales, marketing and logistics.

With its value-added philosophy and wide geographic coverage, Acal can give customers across Europe comprehensive knowhow and support.

Acal offers customers not only a comprehensive stock of components worth some GBP 500 000, but also in-house engineering support and EMC testing, plus access to custom grinding facilities.

Thanks to direct computer links between Epcos and Acal, up-to-the-minute, online information can be obtained on components in stock and production capacity at Epcos' 18 plants worldwide.

Customers in the UK can continue to order ferrite products through the existing Epcos distributor network comprising Electrovalue and Dexter Magnet Materials, who will be fully supported by Acal as master ferrite distributor.
