Epcos has released a new databook for its comprehensive range of aluminium electrolytic capacitors.

Epcos has released a new databook for its comprehensive range of aluminium electrolytic capacitors These products owe their long-term success principally to their mechanical ruggedness, high reliability and universal applicability; and this databook will now allow customers to quickly find the right product to exactly fill their needs

The 240 page databook clearly classifies the Epcos range into the following terminal styles: screw terminals, snap-in, solder pin, soldering star and axial-lead capacitors.

In addition to their use in consumer and industrial electronics, Epcos aluminium electrolytic capacitors are widely used in demanding applications such as lamp ballasts and in automotive electronics, where they operate under tough electrical and mechanical conditions.

Aluminium electrolytic capacitors assume a special position among the various types of capacitors available, as their principle of operation relies, in part, on electromechanical processes.

The main advantage of these capacitors, which has led to their wide use, is their high volumetric efficiency (ie capacitance per unit volume), which enables the production of capacitors with up to 1F capacitance.

This is coupled with the fact that the capacitors provide a high ripple current capability together with a high reliability and an excellent price/performance ratio.
