Low-profile design for tantalum polymer capacitors
Epcos is now shipping polymer tantalum capacitors in case size X, measuring only 1.5 mm high, 7.3 mm long and 4.3 mm wide.
Although these are small and economical their selectivity is not high in terms of quality.
To overcome this problem Epcos has developed innovative filters for Bluetooth and WLAN applications that combine the precise characteristics of dielectric filters with the compact dimensions of LC filters.
The components offer a centre frequency of 2450MHz combined with extremely low insertion losses ranging from 1.0 to 1.8dB, minimum stopband attenuation ranging from 13 to 25dB in the 2100 to 2170MHz frequency range and a bandwidth of 100MHz.
Available in packages with maximum dimensions of 2.5 x 2.5 x 1.6mm, the new RF filters are available for volume production and cost no more to manufacture.
