Thermistors act as reversible fuses
Epcos has a comprehensive range of PTC (positive temperature coefficient) thermistors to perform various tasks in a diverse range of applications.
Because of their versatility, PTC thermistors can be used in a wide variety of applications such as electronic lamp ballast, switch-mode power supplies for delayed switching and thermal protection, automotive electronics and telecommunications.
Specifically designed for line voltage applications with rated currents from 30 to 140mA, Epcos has recently expanded its range of PTC thermistors.
This new range of leaded components have a standard coating for protection against ambient influences and offer electrical insulation from nearby live components.
A dielectric strength of 265V RMS is specified to IEC60738-1, Chapter 4.8 together with high insulation encapsulation.
