The rated voltage of the successful Epcos B84143A**R105 series of powerline filters has been increased from 480 to 520V.

To meet the increasing demands being made by users of frequency convertors and manufacturers of switching cabinets, the rated voltage of the successful Epcos B84143A**R105 series of powerline filters has been increased from 480 to 520V These EMC filters can thus now be used in all common power networks

For equipment manufacturers, this means that the variety of parts needed to make frequency converters for different rated voltages is reduced which in turn saves system costs and increases competitiveness.

These economical and ultracompact filters are suitable for suppressing interference in frequency converters and power supplies to all common standards, such as EN55011, Class A and Class B, depending on the interference profile of the application.

Depending on application, motor cables may be up to 100m long.

The powerline filters are used in variable-speed drives as found in elevators, conveyor belts, compressors, ventilation systems, printing presses and welding equipment as well as in power supplies.

The filter series is available for rated currents from 8 to 150A.

The 520V rated filters carry UL1283 and CSA22.2 No 8 1996 approval and in contrast with the 480V versions, the new 520V series will shortly be approved to EN133200.

EMC filters of the 520V series can be substituted easily for 480V types in existing applications without remeasuring EMC properties.

All other parameters and dimensions specified remain unchanged.

Leakage current figures are higher because the data now refer to 520V.

If the new powerline filters are operated at 480V, they achieve exactly the same result as was obtained with the 480V types.
