"These are excellent products that elegantly solve the control challenges of a great many kiosk applications that solutions developed or borrowed from the IT sector cannot match", said Gordon Venters, CEO of ePoint.
"This agreement with Hemisphere West means that more kiosk developers and operators worldwide, especially in North America, will benefit from the convenience and advanced performance delivered by Cash Device Hub and Universal Device Manager".
ePoint's Universal Device Manager is an interface solution that allows kiosk and gaming applications to communicate with complex peripheral devices and interfaces such as note acceptors and coin mechanisms.
Many of these communicate using nonstandard Windows drivers - a fact that otherwise complicates application development.
Universal Device Manager also generates detailed event and diagnostic information, which Hemisphere West customers can now access locally or through network management tools to maintain and manage installed equipment cost-effectively and thereby maximise uptime.
The ePoint Cash Device Hub works seamlessly with Universal Device Manager to enable robust cash handling with integrated security features which can be used to secure all cash transactions, eliminating many types of common machine fraud.
Cash Device Hub also consolidates interfaces with diverse modules, such as tilt alarms, door switches, coin reversing sensors, and note readers, by providing a wide range of physical and protocol interfaces.
These include RS232, ccTalk, HI2, Dallas 1wire, SSP and extensive low level GPIO.
