Specialist power electronic component distributor Europower Components has recently signed up with Ixys.

Europower Components will be promoting the Ixys Semiconductor and Ixys/Westcode range of IGBTs, MOSFETs, thyristors and diode modules, discretes and capsules through out the UK to power electronics OEMs and system builders in order to increase Ixys sales within the UK and help as an extension of Ixys, in offering technical support to its wide ranging customer base.

The Ixys range of products is ideally suited for the industrial power electronics market with its products ranging from surface mount and through hole technologies to large high power modules and capsules.

With this diverse range and with Europower already offering products from companies such as Epcos (passives), LEM (current/voltage transducers), Sanrex (power semiconductors), Arcol (power resistors), Siba (fuses), Sirio (wound components), Bi-Sonic (AC/DC cooling fans) and Comair Rotron (AC/DC cooling fans) it adds to the company's offering of a complete engineered power component solution.

"Europower Components is extremely happy to announce the signing of the UK distribution contract with Ixys Semiconductor", says Commercial Director Stuart Thrower.

"We have all had a great deal of past experience with the Ixys and Ixys/Westcode product range, with all three directors of Europower Components previously working as a key part of the management and technical team of one of Ixys' largest competitors, Semikron".

"With almost 20 years combined service at our past employer we know what it will take to promote the extensive range of power semiconductors whilst offering the required level of technical and commercial support".
