Equipto Electronics now manufactures its electronic enclosures, instrument cabinets, computer workstations, card cages and chassis under the new and tougher ISO9001:2000 standard.

Equipto Electronics now manufactures its electronic enclosures, instrument cabinets, computer workstations, card cages and chassis under the new and tougher ISO9001:2000 standard.

The new version of the standard requires continuous improvement and requires evaluation of quality system effectiveness on an ongoing basis.

Equipto Electronics was first ISO certified in 1993.

The ISO certification is the recognised standard that validates consistently high quality manufacturing practices and is of particular value to products seeking overseas markets.

On receiving the new certification, Dan Pickert, General Manager of Equipto Electronics, said: "We believe our registration to the new standard demonstrates our commitment to quality products and services.

While the previous version of the standard was useful for documenting a quality system, it did not require continuous improvement efforts.

Any quality system must do this to be truly effective".

Equipto Electronics products include four lines of vertical racks and sloped front consoles.

Cabinets include EMI/RFI shielding from FCC to Tempest levels, products that meet NEBS Zone 4 requirements for seismic resistance, and Mil-Specs 810 and 901 for shock and vibration.

Subrack products include card cages and chassis.
