The organiser of the Southern Electronics Show has announced the programme for next year's ever-popular technical seminar programme.

The organiser of the Southern Electronics Show has announced the programme for next year's ever-popular technical seminar programme The programme runs over both days of the show - 7th and 8th February 2007 - and is completely free to attend for exhibitors and visitors alike

The free seminar programme, like the Southern Electronics Show itself, is aimed squarely at delivering tangible benefits to SMEs involved in all aspects of electronics, component manufacture and assembly.

A regular feature of the Southern Electronics Show, the technical seminar programme is considered by many delegates to be an essential annual event and is always very well supported.

The programme is sponsored by the SMS Electronics in association with Electronics Sourcing magazine, and brings together an impressive line up of industry experts, who will give presentations covering many topics currently affecting electronics-based businesses.

High up on the agenda for this year's programme are presentations addressing RoHS, recycling and obsolescence management.

Leigh Holloway of Envirowise and Chris Robertson of ERA Technology, together with market analyst Aubrey Dunford, will deliver an essential update on legislation from a subcontractor's perspective, covering RoHS, WEEE, EUP and others.

This session will also feature an open-forum debate on the subject, allowing delegates to canvass expert opinion on the subject.

Further presentations will focus on doing business in today's regulatory environment.

Mike Trenchard of the Component Obsolescence Group will examine obsolescence and how companies can work together to mitigate its effects.

Graham Adams of Plestech will present a seminar on designing and manufacturing for recyclability - an essential examination on how environmental legislation impacts on design, supply chain management, manufacturing and marketing.

Technical and business topics addressed over the two days will include designing PCBs to reduce RF and EMC effects, designing for reliability, and how Six Sigma can benefit companies in the electrical and electronics equipment sector.

The Southern Electronics Show seminar programme is an opportunity for SMEs involved in all aspects of the electrical and electronics business to acquire the very latest knowledge in each of the topics under review - delivered by acknowledged experts in their respective fields.

Free access to such quality advice is rare, and is just one reason why the Southern Electronics Show enjoys such strong support from electrical and electronics businesses across the region.

Attendance at all the seminars is free and open to all visitors and exhibitors at Southern Electronics.

However, demand is always high and so prebooking is essential.

Visitor pre-registration for the event and seminars, together with full event information, is available online.

Entry to the Southern Electronics Show is free, with easy road access via junctions 11 or 13 of the M25, free parking is available as are frequent courtesy coach transfers from Staines railway station.
