Suite produces certified critical code
Esterel Technologies has released the newest version of its Scade Suite product, which includes the latest version of its KCG DO-178B qualified and IEC61508 certified C code generator.
"We are very pleased that Intertechnique has decided to standardise on Scade, as part of a two-year collaboration with Esterel Technologies", said Eric Bantegnie, President and CEO of the company.
The decision marks Intertechnique's growing confidence in the value of these important tools, following the successful implementation of Scade and KCG for two systems supplied by Intertechnique to the Airbus A380 programme (electrical load management) and to the Alenia C27J programme (in-flight refuel control system).
Jerome Rame, Vice-President of Intertechnique, confirmed: "Scade Suite and KCG, its DO-178B-qualified C code generator, have proven to be a very efficient way to implement DO-178B-compliant applications on the systems we provide to the aerospace industry with stringent safety-critical applications up to level A".

Code generator turns to railway applications
Esterel Technologies reports that its Scade Suite, already a de-facto standard among the aerospace and defence industry, is experiencing very fast deployment in the rail transportation market.
"The Scade and KCG right-use model has been extensively discussed with the European certification authorities (ESEA)", added Rame, "and the resulting process has shown significant savings in verification activities".
"Moreover, when specifications are supplied by our customers in the Scade format, the turnaround between a specification change and Scade-generated C code is almost instantaneous, which makes our interactions with our customers very efficient".
Esterel's Bantegnie said: "We believe Intertechnique is an excellent example of how efficient a customer-supplier relationship can be when the same specification and design tools are used by both parties".
"We look forward to a very successful relationship with Intertechnique, which should reinforce the competitiveness of the systems they provide to the highly demanding aerospace market".
Scade is the world's leading development tool for the creation of safety-critical embedded software for military and civilian avionics applications and is the emerging standard in the automotive market.
Scade Suite includes advanced capabilities for editing, simulating, validating, automatically generating code, and documenting high-reliability embedded software.
Scade code generators comply with strict standards and guidelines such as the avionics guideline RTCA DO-178B and EUROCAE EB-12B Levels A, B and C, and automotive standard MISRA, and is in the certification process for the IEC61508 standard.
