TTP-Scadelink is a novel system that integrates Esterel Technologies' Scade Suite with TTTech's TTP-Tools, offering developers a comprehensive toolchain for distributed safety-critical embedded systems The system extends from modelling to code generation, and includes communication scheduling, monitoring, and calibration, as well as formal verification

TTP-Scadelink combines the leading-edge solutions for safety-critical system development into one powerful tool environment.

Scade Suite and TTP-Tools are both proven technologies for building safety-critical embedded software.

They are based on the same time-triggered approach, with TTP-Tools providing the communication infrastructure and Scade Suite providing the application components.

A prototype of the integrated system was developed within the European Union IST research programme RISE (Reliable Innovative Software for Embedded Systems).

TTP-Scadelink represents a uniquely powerful breakthrough solution for time-triggered architecture (TTA).

"From the powerful combination of Esterel Technologies' Scade and TTTech's tools and we expect significant improvements in the development, testing, and integration of distributed embedded software applications", said Markus Buhlmann, Project Manager of Time-Triggered Architecture at Audi.

TTP-Scadelink enables developers to specify behaviour and timing constraints, map tasks onto distributed hardware, and generate all the code needed to build communicating executables within the same environment.

Scade's qualifiable code generator guarantees that the code generated from the model is correct with respect to its specification.

This significantly reduces the testing effort at the source level, and replaces it with less costly evaluation of the software model.

In addition, safety-critical applications benefit from using TTP-OS and the AS8202NF, a certifiable TTP communication controller from Austriamicrosystems.

TTP-OS is an OSEKtime-based operating system that is developed according to RTCA standard DO-178B Level A.

Simulation and formal verification of the system can be performed for each individual task and for the global model, thanks to the same underlying paradigm for TTP-Tools and Scade Suite.

As both the application tasks and the communication infrastructure are time-triggered, with complete determinism, a global system model can be represented and formally verified.

With this approach, safety requirements are satisfied, and application software development, integration and maintenance costs are reduced.
