Esterel Technologies has entered into a strategic partnership with GosNIIAS, one of the most prestigious Russian aerospace institutes GosNIIAS has selected Esterel Technologies' Scade safety critical software development environment as the core avionics software development environment for its Russian avionics systems competence centre

The GosNIIAS Russian avionics systems competence centre is a systems and software development platform for airborne applications, combining state-of-the-art development tools and compliant with international standard like the RTCA EuroCAE DO-178B certification standard, the integrated modular avionic (IMA) architecture as well as with ARINC 653 standards.

GosNIIAS has acquired Esterel's Scade safety critical software development environment, including KCG, its DO-178B qualified C code generator that will become the central piece of this development platform.

As part of this partnership, Esterel Technologies will also provide expert consulting services to GosNIIAS and will co-operate with GosNIIAS in the framework of international standardisation initiatives, such as the DO-178C committee.

Sergey Zheltov, Director General of GosNIIAS, said: "Given the on-going restructuring of the Russian aerospace industry and its goal to address export markets, GosNIIAS has to extend its competence towards international aerospace industry standards".

"Scade being a widely deployed and production proven technology, we are very pleased to benefit from Esterel Technologies' experience and expertise in this domain to accelerate the adoption of those standards by the Russian aerospace industry".

Eric Bantegnie, CEO of Esterel Technologies, commented: "Esterel Technologies is very proud and honoured to partner with such a prestigious institute as GosNIIAS".

"We aim at seeing Scade adopted as the standard safety-critical software development environment by the Russian aerospace industry as it is already the case in Europe".

"No doubt that our tight partnership with GosNIIAS will accelerate this adoption".

Scade software complies with strict standards and guidelines, such as the avionics standard RTCA DO-178B and EuroCAE EB-12B Levels A, B and C, along with industry standard IEC61508.
