Software speeds display design
Until the release of SCADE Display, embedded display application developers have had to work manually or with a nonintegrated collection of design tools
Esterel Technologies has released the Esterel SCADE Display 6.0 which addresses the demands put on embedded display developers working in mission and safety-critical applications.
For these applications developers must have an optimal high-quality development environment that improves their productivity, helps them produce qualifiable applications faster and ultimately gives them the capability to improve the maintainability of the systems they develop.
SCADE Display was developed in conjunction with airframe and cockpit display manufacturers.
It supports the safety-critical profile for OpenGL (OpenGL SC) and enables full portability of the automatically generated and deployed applications across a variety of hardware platforms, ensuring long-term retrofit and maintenance options and the optimisation of life-cycle development costs for cockpit and display applications.
SCADE Display is very easy to learn and use.
The drag-and-drop paradigm gives display application developers the ability to quickly construct edge display applications by automating support for high-quality vectorial drawings, complex masking, bitmaps, texture mapping, haloing and anti-aliasing.
SCADE Display users quickly become proficient in display application development.
SCADE Display includes a built-in Ergonomics Checker that greatly improves design quality by providing and checking the design against modeling guidelines, conventions and naming rules.
This addition to the SCADE family provides the user with suggested design alterations and enables the optimisation of graphical specifications.
The rules and guidelines have been implemented with the assistance of industry experts in display application development.
SCADE Display offers unprecedented code generation capabilities with -/- SCADE Display KCG 6.0, which is qualifiable as a development tool under the Military and Aerospace DO-178B standard up to level A.
The SCADE Display Qualification Kit provides all the artifacts produced by Esterel Technologies during the development of the tool and required by certification authorities in DO-178B 8110.49.
Until the release of SCADE Display, embedded display application developers have had to work manually or with a nonintegrated collection of design tools for designing, implementing and testing their applications.
Although SCADE Display can be used as a stand-alone graphics development tool, only the SCADE family of products offers an integrated approach for both the behavioural logic application development as well as the embedded graphics development.
The SCADE family, including SCADE Suite and SCADE Display, has been tightly integrated to provide a comprehensive application development environment for embedded display applications.
SCADE Suite addresses the needs of the application developer who designs and implements the overall behavioural logic of the display application.
SCADE Display addresses the needs of the embedded graphics display designer.
Both products offer certified code generation technology enabling pushbutton application generation.
These products and the integrated workflow greatly expedite time to certification and therefore provide tremendous economic benefits to the embedded display application developer.
Both SCADE Display and SCADE Suite offer integrated documentation generation, configuration management and requirements management capabilities.
